Elite Helicopters adds R66 to fleet
The R66 is the first of its type to join Elite Helicopter's single engine fleet. Operated on a long term lease, the aircraft will be used initially for pilot and flight instructor training missions, and in due course for charter.
Elite Helicopters has added a distinctively coloured Robinson R66 to its fleet.

UK operator Elite Helicopters has added a Robinson R66 turbine engine helicopter (G-LIKK) to its fleet. The aircraft will be held on long term lease from the new owner and will be based at Goodwood aerodrome.

The R66 will be available for use for PPL and CPL courses, as well as type rating training and self fly hire to approved pilots. In the very near future the aircraft will also be added to the company's AOC, making it available for charter through its operations department.

G-LIKK has an unusual, striking and very distinctive paint scheme and will be present at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and all other major events throughout the busy summer season.

“We are extremely excited to have this Robinson R66 joining us,” says co-director Sharon Douglas. “It will be the first of the type that we have had available to operate and will compliment very well the Guimbal Cabri G2, Robinson R22 and R44, Bell JetRanger and AS350 Squirrel types that we currently operate and offer training on within our single engine fleet. It should also fit in very nicely alongside the JetRanger for light charter and will undoubtedly be a huge asset to the expanding fleet of aircraft operated by Elite Helicopters.”

“The new owner is well on his way to gaining his PPL with us here at Goodwood on the Cabri G2,” adds chief flying instructor Tony Trigg. “Having considered the options the owner decided on the R66. Within a few weeks he had located a very well specified machine in the USA and after an independent engineering inspection it was shipped back to the UK and straight into the paint shop for that wonderful new colour scheme. We are delighted to be able to add this fantastic aircraft to our busy training school at Goodwood and Fairoaks.”
