Southeast Aerospace secures expanded international approvals for Garmin GI 275 IVSI and ESI in Part 25 aircraft

Southeast Aerospace, a leading aerospace solutions company based in Melbourne, Florida, is pleased to announce that it has received expanded international approvals for the Garmin GI 275 Electronic Flight Instrument in Part 25 aircraft on an Approved Model List as an Electronic Standby Instrument (ESI) and as an Instantaneous Vertical Speed Indicator (IVSI).

Following the initial FAA approvals in Q1 2023, SEA has now also secured validations from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TCCA), Argentina's National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This extends SEA's global reach beyond the prior approval from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) and Mexico's Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). The FAA issued STC number ST01985WI and ST02004WI, respectively.

Luke Gomoll, SEA's aircraft modifications sales representative, stated, "This extended approval marks a significant milestone, allowing us to support the installation of the GI 275 as a cost-effective replacement for ageing flight instruments in a broad range of Part 25 aircraft within these regions. Owners and operators of business jets can now address obsolescence issues and take advantage of the enhanced capabilities offered by the Garmin GI 275 on their flight decks. These international approvals reinforce the value and applicability of our two Part 25 AML STCs for installation of the GI 275 as an ESI and IVSI in the in the global business aviation sector."

The ESI version of the Garmin GI 275 electronic flight instrument offers an all-in-one option to replace pre-existing, obsolete, higher-cost ESI and mechanical standby instruments, while the IVSI version of the GI 275 electronic flight instrument offers the opportunity to replace ageing and obsolete IVA-81A and IVA-81D IVSI units.

Lightweight and compact, the GI 275 is intentionally designed to take advantage of the common 3.125-inch flight instrument size, reducing installation time and preserving the existing aircraft panel. SEA has designed, manufactured and PMA'd a 3-ATI to 3.125-inch adapter plate to simplify the installation further. The adapter plate is available for purchase with the STC.
