APS becomes first Wingman-certified Training Center
The first training centre to receive such a designation, APS has worked with its Wyvern Flight Leader coach to demonstrate the effectiveness of its SMS, having implemented Wingman standards into its UPRT operations.

Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) has successfully achieved Wyvern Wingman Training Center status through Wyvern’s Flight Leader Program. The Wyvern Wingman Training Center designation validates that Mesa, Arizona-based APS has implemented the various requirements of the Wingman standard into its unique Upset Prevention and Recovery Training operations. The first training centre to receive such a designation, APS has worked with its Wyvern Flight Leader coach throughout the past several months to demonstrate the effectiveness of its SMS.

“At APS, our commitment to aviation safety is unwavering. Achieving the Wyvern Wingman Training Center designation highlights our dedication to delivering the highest standards in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT). By continually evolving our programmes, we ensure that every pilot we train is better equipped to prevent Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I), enhancing the safety of global aviation operations,” says CEO Paul BJ Ransbury.

Wyvern’s Flight Leader Program is designed to mitigate performance drift with frequent and continuous coaching that helps clients attain higher levels of excellence. Wyvern Flight Leader coaches guide clients to achieve and maintain a resilient safety culture via monitoring and expert tutoring related to human, organisational and technical factors.

Carlos Veliz, a Flight Leader coach with Wyvern, highlights APS’s quality and desire to go above and beyond the FAA regulatory standard, stating: “I have had the pleasure of working with Aviation Performance Solutions for several months, validating its safety management system to the Wingman standard. APS is a top-notch training organisation with a leadership team that is truly dedicated to integrating safety and continuous improvement into their overall mission.”
