Northern Jet, a charter company with a presence in both Michigan and Florida, has secured its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator by earning Wingman status through the Flight Leader Program with quarterly coaching by Wyvern. The Wyvern Wingman standard, the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry, provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services.
CEO Chris Bull says: “Achieving Wyvern Wingman certified operator status is a milestone that reflects Northern Jet’s dedication to providing our clients with an elite level of safety and service. Safety has always been at the forefront of our operations, and this certification further validates the trust our clients place in us when they choose Northern Jet for their travel needs. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in private aviation while delivering personal, private and authentic experiences.”
Wyvern Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman standard criteria. The scope of the evaluation includes an evaluation of operational activities, a review of the company's operational history and safety records, a safety management system (SMS), an internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.
“Northern Jet’s certification as a Wyvern Wingman operator sets it apart from other operators in the air charter industry. This achievement validates its commitment to attaining and maintaining an enduring safety culture that elevates its performance above other operators that are just beginning to embrace the value of formal safety risk management,” says Andrew Day, Wyvern senior vice president, operations.
