Hong Kong-based business jet operator Metrojet has renewed, for the second time, its IS-BAO Stage III certification for another three year period through to 2025.
IS-BAO is a set of safety standards developed by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) establishing a framework for effective safety and operational processes, providing tools to facilitate the implementation of best practices and delivering an appropriate safety management system (SMS). There are three stages of certification included in the IS-BAO programme and Metrojet, after initially attaining IS-BAO accreditation in 2011, has achieved Stage III, which is currently the highest attainable level, in 2016, 2019 and most recently in October 2022.
"Metrojet was the first business aviation organisation in Asia to develop its own SMS and to obtain SMS certification. It has always been our goal to pioneer and maintain high safety and quality standards in all areas. We are delighted to see our efforts in maintaining world-class standards being accredited," says CEO Gary Dolski.
IBAC authorised IS-BAO auditor William Mermelstein adds: "The ability and willingness of the Metrojet team to provide expanded audit interview responses demonstrated that maximum utilisation of the IS-BAO standards and an effective SMS programme is an engrained culture and not just a guideline or standard to follow. Metrojet is emboldened to the true meaning of a fully integrated Stage III+ operation."
Established in 1997, Metrojet pioneered business aviation services in Hong Kong and remains one of the most renowned safety and customer-focussed business jet operators and maintenance providers in the Asia Pacific.
