Premiair, TAG Aviation Asia, Metrojet, ExecuJet Asia and Gandel Investments have all become recent customers for Honeywell's JetWave satellite communications hardware, expanding Honeywell's customer base in the Asia Pacific region. Each operator has adopted high speed connectivity services onboard their business jets, such as the Gulfstream G550 and G650, Bombardier Global 6000 and Global 7500, and Dassault Falcon aircraft.

These business jet operators and their passengers can now enjoy greatly improved productivity with in-flight wi-fi speeds up to 33 Mbps, enabling video conferences, large file transfers, web surfing and video streaming. The ability to access reliable in-flight wi-fi is a growing expectation in business aviation, with an increasing number of customers and channel partners in the Asia Pacific and China regions expressing interest in Honeywell JetWave satellite communications hardware.

“As an aircraft charter operator in Indonesia, we aim to satisfy the needs of our customers,” says Tony Hadi, Premiair CEO. “We are confident in Honeywell's support of Premiair's growth in Indonesia and beyond, so we selected Honeywell as our fleet in-flight connectivity and services provider.”

To meet growing customer demand, Honeywell has partnered with leading industry players in the region to facilitate easy in-region installations, reducing delivery time. In-region partners that can install JetWave include Jet Aviation Singapore, Bombardier Aerospace Services, ExecuJet, Avionics 2000, Jet City and Metrojet. Honeywell has also partnered with VSE Aviation Singapore to have stock readily available to ensure timely installations. To date, Honeywell has delivered over 1,700 JetWave systems across the commercial airline and business aviation sectors worldwide.

“Travellers in Asia Pacific, particularly business jet operators and owners, are demanding better in-flight wi-fi and are willing to pay for faster connectivity like they experience at home or in the office,” comments Amit Kaul, leader, business and general aviation, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace. “Many of our customers in the region recognise how high speed in-flight connectivity can provide them with the ability to communicate anytime for better business decision-making or enhanced in-flight entertainment. To better support these customers, we have also formed strategic partnerships to offer local installations for immediate delivery.”

JetWave delivers access to the faster Ka-band satellite communications network, provided by Inmarsat through its Jet ConneX service. This gives passengers and flight operators access to high speed ‘wi-fi in the sky’, allowing easy use of high bandwidth online services. JetWave also enables a fully connected aircraft when paired with Honeywell's GoDirect services, which provide pilots and operators with the information they need to manage their flight operations and network, from flight planning and data management to predictive maintenance alerts.

Other Honeywell satellite communications solutions that offer high speed connectivity include the Aspire suite of satellite communication offerings for the cockpit. Aspire leverages both Inmarsat's and Iridium's satellite systems to bring greater reliability, cost savings and efficiency to business aviation, airlines and helicopter operators around the world.
