Alidaunia achieves Stage II for heli ops and training
Stage 2 registration from IS-BAO is given to those companies who can show that safety risks are being effectively managed. The latest to join the register is the Italian aviation company Alidaunia.
Alidaunia has achieved IS-BAO Stage II registration for its helicopter operations and training.

Italy-based aviation company Alidaunia has achieved IS-BAO Stage II safety management registration across its helicopter operations and training businesses.

Founded in 1976, Alidaunia began as a fixed wing operator and then acquired the licence to operate executive flights for passenger transport. Since 1985, it has provided daily flights between Foggia and the Tremiti Islands, and in 1986 it became the only Italian company operating scheduled flights with helicopters. It also operates 24/7 helicopter emergency medical services to serve the islands and regions in the south of Italy, and is qualified for helicopter firefighting activities as well as providing heliport construction, certification and management.

As a maintenance organisation Alidaunia is approved EASA Part 145, Turkish SHY 145 and Russia FAR 289, and is qualified as a Leonardo Excellent Service Centre and designated maintenance facility for Pratt & Whitney engines.

“Congratulations to the entire Alidaunia organisation for this achievement,” comments IS-BAO director Bennet Walsh. “This standard is designed to be integrated into operations, both rotor or fixed wing, anywhere in the world, and Alidaunia is a great example of how IS-BAO works.”

“We are very proud of this accomplishment, and it is a testament to our team's commitment to safety and its ability to work together toward a strong safety culture for our operation,” adds flight operations manager Vincenzo Pucillo. “IS-BAO is a voluntary standard of best practices, and we chose to pursue this to demonstrate our professionalism to our clients and colleagues.”
