SwitzerlandSwissport is increasing its presence in the Asia Pacific region by launching Swissport Executive Aviation at Auckland airport, New Zealand. The Executive Aviation brand is replacing Skycare, the former FBO of Aerocare, and now connects with more than 90 airports and 25 countries across the globe. Australian ground handler Aerocare became a part of Swissport International in March 2018.
According to Rob D'Alessio, Swissport senior VP Australia and New Zealand, the Auckland-based team was delighted to join the global network. “We have operated locally since 1987, delivering expert services at more than 47 locations throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific Islands. Joining the global network, and operating under the well-known and trusted Swissport Executive Aviation brand will benefit our new and existing customers and set the benchmark for safety and seamless international service,” he says.
At Auckland airport, Swissport Executive Aviation operates a private FBO terminal and VIP lounge where customs, immigration and baggage clearance are taken care of. Travel arrangements are handled by the in-house travel agency Inspire Travel. Swissport Executive Aviation has concierge staff at 32 airports in Australia and New Zealand. Mark Siladi, head of Swissport Executive Aviation in Australia and New Zealand and Inspire Travel, explains: “Our mission is to make arrivals, stopovers and departures as smooth as possible for passengers and crew, providing a fully customised spectrum of services with a personal touch.”
Swissport Executive Aviation first launched in 2001 at the Nice Côte d'Azur Airport in France and has since grown to handle more than 24,000 flights per year at over 90 bases. Now it provides exclusive and discreet ground handling services to the international community of operators and executives who utilise private or corporate jets at airports worldwide.
