Mexican approval aids maintenance team striving for Apex
Las Vegas is a tourist magnet, and private aircraft are a regular feature on the ramp. Local firm Apex Aviation has been boosted by news that the Mexican DGAC has approved its maintenance services.

Apex Aviation in Henderson, Nevada has been authorised to repair and maintain aircraft registered in Mexico. The Mexican Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil (DGAC) issued approved maintenance organisation validation certificate number CO-192/18 to Apex, the equivalent of a US FAA Part 145 repair station certification.

“The requirements of the FAA are equivalent to those established by DGAC for repair station operation,” says CEO Scott Bullock. “Las Vegas is an international tourist destination, so it makes sense for us to be able to service aircraft from Mexico.”

Headquartered at Henderson Executive airport in southern Nevada, Apex is an FAA-approved Part 145 repair station serving the corporate and general aviation industry. Its factory-trained technicians provide aircraft maintenance, repair, modifications, ADS-B upgrades, avionics installations, repairs and overhauls for turbine, piston, turboprop and rotary aircraft. It works on every make and model of aircraft and provides interior and exterior detailing as well.

The company has two locations in the Las Vegas area. A 40,000 sq ft facility at the Henderson Executive Airport houses its corporate offices, while the North Las Vegas location is an authorised Robinson service centre, adding another 21,000 sq ft. Apex also offers a global mobile repair team, which has travelled as far south as Australia and as far north as Siberia.

Founded in March 2014, the company is looking to expand its Part 25 client base to include maintenance contracts with fractional air carriers and other charter companies, and it is also looking to grow the aircraft management side of its business.
