Metrea takes on Peregrine’s design capabilities
Metrea can now leverage the much-prized capability of an ODA, enabling it to self-certify its aircraft designs and modifications on behalf of the FAA, further deepening its stack in key mission areas across the air domain.

Metrea has added Peregrine Avionics, which will be rebranded as Metrea Aerospace Design, to work with its existing engineering capabilities and MRO stations in Oklahoma and Tampa. This will enhance Metrea’s ability to design, develop and modify manned assets, improving time-to-theatre and the capacity to spirally develop new air assets. Metrea Aerospace Design’s rich market exposure will also enhance Metrea’s ability to anticipate, understand and address unique opportunities and challenges affecting mission partners.

“We are very excited to welcome Peregrine Avionics into the Metrea team. With Metrea Aerospace Design we are now able to leverage the much-prized capability of an Organisation Designation Authorisation, which enables Metrea to self-certify our aircraft designs and modifications on behalf of the FAA, further deepening our stack in key mission areas across the air domain,” says Jon ‘Ty’ Thomas, head of air and space group.

“Peregrine is excited to be an integral part of the Metrea team. With the support of such an innovative and solution-focused organisation, we look forward to growing our engineering capacity and expanding our ODA capabilities. Since our founding in 2009, it makes sense now more than ever for us to partner with a team that has the drive and focus to foster our commitment to inspiring design, efficient programme management and regulatory compliance. I am excited that we now provide a core competency to such an elite enterprise, while elevating our support to legacy customers that helped lay our foundation,” adds David Rankin, head of Metrea Aerospace Design.

Metrea Aerospace Design will continue to be based in Denver, Colorado.

Metrea is the leading provider of effects-as-a-service to national security partners across multiple domains and over a dozen mission-centric solution areas, including airborne ISR, aerial refuelling, electronic warfare, communications, space-based ISR and advanced simulation. Metrea is headquartered in Washington, DC with facilities across the US, UK, EU and the Far East.
