Hong Kong-based Metrojet's head of safety and quality Kent Wong has been elected to sit on the standards board for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). The IS-BAO standards board is the decision-making body for all changes to the standards contained in the IS-BAO and the audit procedures manual.

“I am honoured to be part of the standards board and excited to fully support the IS-BAO Vision 2020 initiative with practical but high standards which will benefit many Asian operators with IS-BAO accreditations,” he says.

IS-BAO was developed by the business aviation community and is maintained by its standards board, which is comprises a group of business aviation subject matter experts nominated by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) member associations. Kent Wong was nominated by the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) based on his experience and exposure in aviation safety and quality. He oversees Metrojet's safety management system which incorporates international best practice into all processes and procedures, thereby mitigating hazards and enhancing safety culture.

Established in 1995 as one of the first business aviation companies in Hong Kong, Metrojet provides aircraft management, charter maintenance and aviation consultancy services in the Asia Pacific region. It achieved IS-BAO Stage III certification in 2017.
