Two months after opening new FBO facilities in Ibiza, Sky Valet has won two tenders from Spanish airports operator AENA to manage the executive aviation terminals at both Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona-El Prat airports. Management of the terminals will be shared with UTE Spanish FBO.
“By awarding us the Madrid and Barcelona FBO contracts, AENA is acknowledging our expertise and renewing its confidence in our ability to boost the attractiveness of these two destinations, via a competitive pricing policy and the service quality standards that underpin Sky Valet's reputation,” says Sky Valet executive VP and director of the general aviation business unit of the Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur Group Michel Tohane.
The contracts run for a minimum of five years, during which time Sky Valet will pursue its aim of getting IS-BAH certification for the two FBOs. Its Lisbon facility is already Stage 1 approved, while its Stage 2 certified Cannes-Mandelieu FBO became the first FBO in France and the third in the world to obtain the standard in 2015.
Between 1 January and the end of October 2018 the Madrid business aviation terminal has recorded 4,200 movements, with an expected 5,000 movements by the end of the year. The Barcelona terminal has recorded 2,500 movements for that same period, with a target of 2,800 by year end.
Sky Valet has 22 stations across France, Spain and Portugal. The network is also present in Italy and Bulgaria via its recently announced Sky Valet Connect affiliate brand.
