Production of the ACJ318, the smallest narrowbody aircraft in the ACJ family, began in 2002 and entry into service followed in 2007. It is powered by two CFM56-5B9 engines, each offering 23,300 lbs of thrust, making it fully capable of intercontinental trips.
The cabin is typically configured for up to 19 passengers and four crew seats, with approximately 800 sq ft of floor space that can be divided into four sections.
Main variants include the A318 Elite, launched in 2005 and name changed to ACJ318 in 2011; and the A318 Enhanced. This latter was introduced in October 2012 and incorporated as standard a wider variety of seat choices, domed ceilings, window shades and high definition in flight entertainment.
The ACJ318 began life as a commercial A318 airliner in 2001 but was remarketed for the corporate jet sector just four years later. It has a relatively compact footprint of approximately 103 ft in length, 41 ft tall with a 112 ft wingspan, yet delivers a cabin volume of 5,300 cubic ft.
