Why visit ACE ’25?
VIP operator Comlux has approved MRO Japan to perform maintenance on its Airbus ACJ318. The Maltese registered aircraft based in Clark International airport in the Philippines is expected to arrive at the maintenance facility for a scheduled maintenance inspection after MRO Japan finalises the necessary ACJ318 adaptation process with the authority.
MRO Japan is a joint venture led by Japan-based aviation companies and integrates its knowledge and skills to deliver high quality service with Japanese hospitality. It has been supporting major airlines in Japan and in Asia since 2015 and has gained a solid reputation on the Asian MRO market. The company boasts a 29,000 sqm facility at Naha airport in Okinawa and has been fully approved for maintenance of Airbus A320 family airliners for seven years. The ACJ318 operated by Comlux will be the first ACJ maintained by MRO Japan and as per the EASA Part 145 standards. MRO Japan received EASA Part 145 approval in October this year.
Comlux Group COO Andrea Zanetto says: "We are very pleased to have MRO Japan performing the next maintenance check on the Airbus ACJ318. It is key for Comlux to develop its network of approved MRO centres for its VIP fleet, and MRO Japan has successfully passed our stringent audit. Its industry practices and wide experience in Airbus aircraft maintenance are valuable assets that will efficiently support the ACJ318 of our customer, a renowned corporation in Japan."
"We highly appreciate that MRO Japan has established the maintenance structure for Airbus Corporate Jets for the first time in Japan. MRO Japan is the leading company in Japan, specialising in MRO, supporting air safety with high quality and technical capabilities," adds Airbus Japan president and Airbus head of north Asia region Stéphane Ginoux. "We welcome this milestone, which will create an environment that will provide ACJ customers throughout the Asian region with new, high quality maintenance services and contribute to the further development of business aviation in the region."
MRO Japan president Takashi Takahashi adds: "We are very honoured that MRO Japan has been successfully approved by Comlux and that we have acquired our very first ACJ and EASA registered customer. We believe that this new field will open up new opportunities and strengthen our competitiveness in our efforts to become a major MRO in Asia."
