Leman Aviation, an official distributor of the Leonardo AW09 helicopter and parent company of French operator Alpes Helicopteres, has carried out a transaction involving two AW09s purchased by a group of Geneva-based investors.
These investors aim to replicate the successful co-ownership model established by the company in the Alps and French Riviera regions, expanding it across the Geneva region. This new venture allows Leman Aviation to further develop its fractional ownership, aircraft management and charter flight offering in Switzerland.
As the launch customer of Leonardo’s AW09 helicopter, Leman Aviation says it is strategically positioned to bring optimal air mobility solutions. This model offers significant advantages for investors and aviation enthusiasts alike.
With Léman’s helicopter co-ownership programme, co-owners enjoy guaranteed availability, with a helicopter at their disposal at any time, for a fraction of the cost of full ownership. This model minimises capital investment while offering co-owners the opportunity to fly in one of the world’s most comfortable helicopters.
With no positioning fees and invoicing based solely on occupied hours, the programme ensures that participants experience unmatched convenience, service, safety and access.
The company takes care of all operational aspects of the helicopters, offering fully tailored management solutions that cover everything from technical and regulatory oversight to safety and administrative matters. Services include pilot and crew management, maintenance, ground handling, airworthiness monitoring, insurance coverage and hangarage.
Nicolas Miras and Vincent Pollet, co-managing partners of Leman Aviation, say: “This expansion into Switzerland marks a significant step forward for our co-ownership programme. The acquisition of the AW09 helicopters not only strengthens our fleet but also reinforces our commitment to providing innovative, cost-effective mobility solutions. By replicating our proven model in the Geneva region, we aim to offer our clients even greater flexibility and accessibility. We believe that this is just the beginning of a broader movement toward more integrated and tailored air mobility services across Europe.”
