West Star Aviation chooses VOCUS for safety programme
The power of VOCUS to provide management insights on safety and quality trends will offer West Star a greater ability to quickly address problem areas and continually improve how it does business safely.
VOCUS SMS is an advanced safety management software system that facilitates compliance with the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and applicable FAA guidance.

US-based MRO West Star Aviation has selected VOCUS SMS as the technology platform for its innovative ‘Safety 24/7’ programme.

VOCUS SMS is an advanced safety management software system developed by Polaris Aero that facilitates compliance with the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and applicable FAA guidance. It not only helps improve safety, it also helps improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire organisation.

“We are excited to announce West Star Aviation's partnership with VOCUS SMS as our safety management system. At West Star Aviation, safety is our number one priority. We are dedicated to taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our customers, technicians and workforce. We believe in the capabilities of VOCUS SMS to support us in upholding the highest safety standards in the industry,” says CEO Stephen Maiden.

“We chose VOCUS SMS because of its simple user interface and mobile capabilities, its strong use of technology to reduce workload on our safety and quality management teams, and its framework to integrate to other technologies we utilise in our daily operations,” he continues.

VOCUS SMS utilises advanced technology and design concepts to simplify the complexity of safety management. Instead of focusing on simple data collection, VOCUS SMS focuses on transforming safety data into actionable insights.

“VOCUS has features that will allow us to do most aspects of our safety and quality functions from within the one system, which greatly simplifies engagement across our enterprise and streamlines the management insights that we can use to inform management,” adds VP of safety Patrick Moylan. “We were also keenly aware of Polaris Aero's ever present thought leadership in the aviation industry specifically, and the stellar team of safety service professionals we can lean on for various support along our journey.”

“Supporting the new West Star safety programme is an honour for Polaris Aero and underscores the hard work and vision that our products embody to help organisations be as safe as possible,” says Polaris CEO Chris Connor. “With such a large organisation, the power of VOCUS to provide management insights on safety and quality trends will offer West Star a greater ability to quickly address problem areas and continually improve how it does business safely for all stakeholders.”
