AEM achieves STC for MTP136D aerial firefighting radio
It covers the installation of the MTP136D for all aircraft in the H125 (AS350) series. With the radio in extremely high demand, the certification will speed up the process of updating many operators' fleets.
The MTP136D is on track toward formal acceptance by the US Forest Service and is already shipping and being installed on aircraft throughout North America.

Canada-based avionics manufacturer Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing (AEM) has been granted a new STC for its modern MTP136D P25 forest service radio. The Transport Canada awarded STC #SH24-21 is a significant milestone for AEM, as well as for operators providing aerial firefighting services using the industry workhorse Airbus H125 (AS350) aircraft.

“This acknowledgement makes it even easier for folks on the front lines battling intense wildfires to have the most up-to-date communication equipment at their fingertips,” says Tony Weller, AEM sales and marketing director. “We want to get these radios to those who need them as quickly as possible, and this STC helps integrators make that happen.”

AEM's STC covers the installation of the MTP136D for all aircraft in the H125 (AS350) series. With the radio in extremely high demand since its launch in late 2023, the certification will help speed up the process of updating many operators' fleets with the latest in aerial firefighting communication technology.

Designed with the United States Forest Service and aerial firefighting operators in mind, the MTP136D is a Project 25 Phase 1 compliant VHF FM solution for digital and analogue communication on all channels across the 136MHz to 174MHz frequency band. It's easily integrated for tactical systems and platform upgrades, and is a plug-and-play replacement for existing legacy radios.

The MTP136D is on track toward formal acceptance by the US Forest Service and is already shipping and being installed on aircraft throughout North America.
