FAI rent-a-jet's air ambulance division has been awarded the 'Outstanding Sector Leadership and Growth Award' in the Air Ambulance category at the MEA Business Achievement Awards 2024 in Dubai. FAI's Dubai-based team members accepted the award from Kenneth Mitchen, executive director and publisher, Creative Middle East Media at a ceremony and gala dinner held at the Ritz Carlton JBR. Determined by a panel of industry experts, the MEA Business Achievement Awards recognise and celebrate the most innovative and successful businesses and leaders across the Middle East and Africa.
This latest award is testament to FAI Air Ambulance's achievements in the Middle East, most notably its recent Commercial Airline Medical Escort (CAME) accreditation from EURAMI for its Dubai-based medical escort service. This followed FAI's accreditation as an approved EURAMI provider in early 2023.
The CAME endorsement accredits aeromedical providers performing patient transfers to transport patients seated in the cabin or on a designated stretcher. FAI is the first private company in the GCC with EURAMI CAME accreditation, and the only European fixed-wing operator to receive both the CAME accreditation and the EURAMI-approved provider accreditation in the GCC.
Barbara Baumgartner, managing director at FAI rent-a-jet's DMCC branch, comments: “We are honoured and proud to receive this award, which serves as a great endorsement for our achievements in the region. I would like to thank our clients for their continued support as well as our dedicated team of professionals who work tirelessly every day to make our work possible.”
Headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany, FAI rent-a-jet’s air ambulance operations boasts a diverse 10-strong fleet of Bombardier aircraft, comprising Learjet 60s, Challenger 604s and Global Express, equipped with advanced medical technology to handle a wide range of air ambulance missions. This diversity allows FAI to tailor its services to the unique needs of each patient, ensuring the highest level of care during transport, which may include some of the most critical and challenging cases in the industry. FAI Air ambulance is supported by more than 50 part-time physicians, nurses and paramedics. The company also specialises in air support in hostile areas for the world's largest NGO.
In November 2023, FAI Aviation Group was named Air Ambulance Company of the Year at the Middle East Aviation Awards and Barbara Baumgartner was named Aviation Business Innovative Leader.
