Italy-headquartered TopJet has been making significant strides since opening its first US base at the Opa Locka Executive airport in Miami in May 2023. Marketing director Francesca Smith explains: “Collaborating with luxury brands such as Italian yacht maker San Lorenzo at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has been instrumental in positioning TopJet as a leader in luxury air travel. Partnerships such as this allow us to reach discerning clients who value exclusivity and high-end experiences.”

The company has also organised two private dinners at the Sopra Club, an exclusive members' club that is part of Forte dei Marmi. “These intimate events allow us to connect personally with our clients, reinforcing the trust and confidence they place in us,” says Smith. Additionally, the company’s sponsorship of the Reserve Paddle Tournament in Miami highlights its commitment to community engagement, and it was present in the VIP paddocks at the Miami F1 Grand Prix, flying clients directly into the stadium.

“We have confirmed that the Italian style of luxury, with its attention to detail and personalised service, resonates profoundly with the US market,” says head of European sales and operations Carlo Magnani. “In a landscape often characterised by impersonality and transactional interactions, our approach stands out and appeals to clients seeking more than just a flight.”

TopJet believes in the power of personal connections. “Clients need to put a face to the voice they talk to on the phone and be reassured that they are in the best hands,” says sales executive Harrison Schamach. This philosophy has proved to be effective, and the company has seen a 40 per cent increase in sales in the six months since the start of the 2024 events season. “Our best advertising is word of mouth, and we've seen amazing results from it,” he adds.

As the Miami heat drives many clients north or to the Mediterranean, it is shifting part of its operations to the Hamptons on Long Island, where the team plans to organise private dinners at local golf tournaments. Looking ahead, it is preparing for an exciting high season in Miami this autumn as it organises charter flights to the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, New York Fashion Week and the Kentucky Derby.

Since its US debut, TopJet is getting to better know the local clientele by arranging helicopter hops, domestic charters and trips to Europe. “This versatility and dedication to excellence have solidified TopJet's reputation as a provider of luxury air travel in the US market,” Magnani avers.
