Urbanlink expands all-electric fleet
UrbanLink Air Mobility has just placed orders for up to 20 Eviation eVTOL aircraft, and for 27 Regent seagliders for coastal operations around south Florida and Puerto Rico.
10, perhaps 20, Eviation Alice aircraft will form part of the UrbanLink fleet.

UrbanLink Air Mobility is to purchase 10 Alice aircraft from Eviation, with the option to acquire 10 more. The order will enable the south Florida-based company to provide eco-friendly commute flights with the nine-passenger Alice, which can fly up to 250 nautical miles nonstop.

“Our order for 10 Eviation Alice aircraft completes the third leg of our all-electric operating plan, giving us the ability to offer nine-seat, zero-emission flights across our network,” says founder and chairman Ed Wegel. “Together with our regional eVTOL aircraft and electric sea vessels, we will provide seamless, sustainable travel options across the regions we serve, setting the stage for a fully integrated, eco-friendly travel experience.”

Eviation Aircraft develops and manufactures electric aircraft to provide operators and passengers with green, cost efficient and convenient regional transportation. Its innovative airframe is designed from the ground up for electric flight.

CEO Andre Stein adds: “This partnership with UrbanLink to operate our Alice aircraft marks a significant milestone in our shared vision of creating a sustainable and efficient transportation network. The Alice's zero-emissions technology and unmatched passenger experience will enable UrbanLink to offer unparalleled service while contributing to a greener future.”

UrbanLink has also ordered 27 all-electric seagliders from Regent Craft to operate in south Florida and Puerto Rico, starting in 2027. It will operate Regent's flagship Viceroy seagliders, 12-passenger vessels that travel at up to 180mph to service routes up to 180 miles on a single charge. The seagliders will augment the company's existing all-electric transportation solutions in Miami and San Juan.

“Our partnership with Regent further advances our mission to bring zero-emission regional travel to the US, with a specific focus on the Miami and San Juan markets,” says Wegel. “This order perfectly complements our previous commitment to electric sea vessels, all of which will seamlessly integrate with our all-electric eVTOL jets, expanding our reach and enhancing connectivity across the regions we serve. By embracing these innovative, zero-emission modes of transportation, whether by sea or air, we're not only shaping the future of travel but also taking meaningful steps toward a cleaner, more sustainable environment for generations to come.”

Seagliders will contribute to developing multi-modal transportation ecosystems in coastal areas. Using existing dock infrastructure, they support and advance increased connectivity and charging options, which will benefit other electric vehicles operating in that space.

“UrbanLink's order expands the opportunity to connect millions of people in south Florida and Puerto Rico with efficient, comfortable and sustainable transportation solutions,” adds Billy Thalheimer, co-founder and CEO, Regent. “As demand for seagliders grows, this agreement brings us closer to realising their potential to enhance existing transportation systems and improve people's lives.”

Seaglider operations out of Miami could serve as many as 4.3 million passengers annually. According to a recent survey conducted by Regent, 88 per cent of Miami residents would be interested in using a seaglider for regional coastal travel.

Since its launch in April 2024, UrbanLink has rapidly advanced its mission to lead the US market in all electric, zero-emission transportation solutions. In May, the company announced a partnership with Lilium to purchase 20 Lilium Jets. With eVTOL operations expected to enter service by summer 2026, UrbanLink is poised to be the first airline in the US to integrate eVTOL aircraft into its fleet. UrbanLink has also forged partnerships with Ferrovial Vertiports and Skyway Technologies to establish strategic vertiports in key markets. Beyond air travel, UrbanLink is embracing maritime solutions, with plans to operate Artemis Technologies' zero-emission water taxis and Regent Craft's Viceroy seagliders.

UrbanLink is currently focused on Miami/south Florida, Los Angeles/southern California and the Caribbean, with additional routes and regions to be announced in the near future.
