Maltese operator and aircraft management company Hyperion Aviation has made three recent hires to its management team: Guy Farnfield, Sinclair Portelli and Victoria Vella.
Farnfield is now accountable manager and managing director. He joined the company in October 2023 from the Nordica Aviation Group, where he was the accountable manager and chief operating officer for three years. Prior to that he was based in Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways.
CEO of parent company Flyinggroup Johan Van Lockeren says: “We welcome Guy into the team and look forward to seeing him take Hyperion Aviation to the next level. After many successful years under previous MD Eric Weiskopf, Guy will lead the company into closer collaboration with Flyinggroup while ensuring that Hyperion maintains its strong brand image within the African and Middle East regions."
Portelli is head of flight operations. He has been with Hyperion for the last three years flying on CJ3, BBJ and Gulfstream V aircraft. As the nominated person for flight operations, he will be key to setting the highest standards of safety within the flight ops department.
Farnfield says: “We welcome Sinclair into his new position and feel that his local knowledge within the Maltese arena will contribute significant improvements within the flight operations department and its ability to deliver best in class services to our customers."
Vella has been a key account manager with Hyperion for the last seven years, and her promotion to head of key account management will allow her to implement key strategies that will deliver step change improvement in how the company can deliver better customer service.
Farnfield adds: “The relationship with our customers is paramount to our success. Having someone with Victoria’s knowledge and experience leading the team of key account managers in Malta and the Middle East will help us maintain our position as a leader in delivering top class relationship management to our customers.”
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Belgium-based Flyinggroup, Hyperion has a fleet of 25 aircraft operating under Maltese and San Marino AOCs.
