Lider Aviacao, the Brazil-based full service executive aviation company, has received the SustenAR Program award during the fourth edition of the Sustainable Aviation event held in Brasília by the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC). The award was launched at last year's event in 2022 when Líder was also the winner.
The award evaluates Brazilian air operators against ratings in ANAC's SustenAr programme, that seeks to encourage everything from conduct to proactive initiatives related to sustainability in aviation.
The award criteria are linked to five groups related to sustainability in aircraft operations: organisational management and environmental education; energy transition; operational efficiency; atmospheric emissions; and natural resources. Topics such as the energy transition through the use of sustainable fuels, operational improvements and the reduction of carbon and pollutant emissions are among those addressed.
“Having the recognition of a unique initiative such as the SustentAR award in the air taxi category confirms that we are treading a path of evolution and commitment to sustainability in aviation,” says Líder director of quality, safety, environment, health and integrity Jorge França.
Líder executives attended the event to receive the award from ANAC directors Ricardo Catanant, Tiago Pereira and Rogério Benevides as well as from the National Secretary of Civil Aviation Juliano Noman.
