CanadaSaudia Private Aviation (SPA) has achieved Stage II of the IS-BAH certification for its Jeddah and Riyadh locations.
The IS-BAH is the first standard of its kind through which ground handling operators worldwide can meet the requirements of international civil aviation. The standardisation is designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of ground handling service providers for business and general aviation, and contributes to the implementation of industry best practices through a progressive, scalable safety management system appropriate through which performance can be judged to meet or exceed customer expectations.
CEO Dr Fahad Aljarboa says: “SPA is devoted to the highest standards of excellence in its operations. We are always keen to implement international standards in safety and quality systems in accordance with international regulations in this regard. Meeting the registration requirements in this demanding international standard for dealing with business jets confirms our total and unwavering commitment to safety factors and the reduction of operational risks.”
The group has signed an MoU with Saudi national company LPort, a provider of smart logistical solutions and services, that paves the way to develop services that aim to reduce the time and effort that goes into the boarding procedures for flights.
In addition, SPA and LPort will be looking to implement automated systems within airport service facilities and electronic services that will further contribute to the ongoing fast-paced development of the aviation sector in Saudi Arabia. The DCS service, which handles guest boarding control systems by scanning guests' passports, is one service that will save boarding time for guests on private flights.
Dr Aljarboa says: “At SPA, we prioritise the continuous development of our service systems, which is achieved by partnering with companies that expand our expertise and focusing on creativity and innovation in outputs. The partnership with LPort will help us explore the latest technology solutions to enhance the aviation sector and contribute to improving the guest experience in all service locations and throughout their travel journey.”
