Web Manuals is upgrading its app to enhance document management on the move.
With the same functionality as the full browser alternative, accessibility has been improved throughout the app, with dark mode allowing for use in cockpits at night, and additional zooming and background removal functionality for clear reading of manuals.
Users can see which documents are on each aircraft, in which revision, and whether they have been read by the intended recipients. In the case of time-sensitive amends, admins can push operationally critical documents onto specific or all devices, with oversight as to who has downloaded the most urgent files.
VP of sales and director of operations, Americas Krister Genmark says: “The Web Manuals app is an easy way for aircraft operators to download, read and update crucial documents, even when flying at 10,000 ft at night with no internet connection. For ground support staff, the app allows users to read up-to-date information, check on specific parts, fill in forms or approve documentation when away from a computer or laptop.
“This app revision has been in development for more than a year by our incredibly talented in-house IT team. The changes are a direct result of feedback from customers, which we collect during our annual GoDigital events. We look forward to providing customers with an upgraded, more intuitive tool.”
The app is currently in open beta status, with the first version launching in Q4 2022 - Q1 2023. The reviewer element is set to be implemented during 2023, as well as functionality that allows for more intuitive reading such as rotate view buttons, easier page switch buttons and navigational breadcrumbs.
The company has experienced significant growth across the US, acquiring 25 stateside customers since the beginning of 2022.
Business aviation represents more than half of the organisations opting for its digitalisation tools, strengthening the company's position as the leading document digitisation tool within the sector.
Genmark says: “This year, we've witnessed the return of international travel and with that global aviation companies have sought to implement efficient and reliable safety regulation processes. In 2021, we acquired 21 North American customers, and to say that we have achieved another significant increase this year following the uncertainty of the pandemic is a huge achievement.
“Demand for document digitisation has accelerated rapidly in the US. We now work with more than 480 customers globally, and more than a quarter of those businesses are based in the US. We've also acquired a number of new customers in South America this year, marking our expansion across the continent and demonstrating the critical role the region plays in leading the way in the digitisation of business aviation.
“Over the next few years, the rise of developing advanced air mobility (AAM) infrastructure will translate into the growing need for streamlined regulation management. With a growing footprint within the industry, we are well placed to support these new technologies and regulations as they start to emerge.”
131 US aviation businesses now utilise digital manual management with Web Manuals, equating to more than a quarter of the company's total client base.
