Amsterdam Schiphol airport, Netherlands-based Pilatus operator Silver Flight has expanded its fleet with two PC 12-NGX aircraft.

"The NGX variant has just a little more to offer in terms of sustainability, comfort and innovation,” says managing director Perry Roolvink. "We couldn't have asked for better additions with which to renew our fleet.”

The latest version of this multifunctional and versatile aircraft can land on short runways, making many more European destinations accessible; as many as 2,500 European airports, almost three times as many as with a regular private aircraft.

Roolvink continues: "Silver Flight is growing and so an expansion was essential to continue to ensure availability and flexibility. In addition, we want to continuously develop and improve as a society in order to guarantee our passengers the highest standards in terms of quality, efficiency, comfort, convenience and sustainability.”

The cabin of the NGX has been upgraded and is equipped with larger windows that allow ten per cent more daylight than its predecessor, the PC-12 NG. The aircraft is powered by one PT6E-67XP turboprop engine with an electronic propeller, considerably more environmentally friendly than some other aircraft. The CO2 that is released is fully compensated with the purchase of certified emission reduction units (CERs) from the United Nations.

The two NGX aircraft, PH-SFG and PH-SFH, are available for charter now, and Silver Flight is to host an event in November to ‘christen’ the aircraft, and to give customers and interested parties the opportunity to get acquainted with them.
