West Star strengthens East Alton team with hire
Formally serving as avionics senior crew chief in the US Air Force and the Illinois National Guard, Jim Ellis adds over 26 years of aviation experience to the West Star team in East Alton.

West Star Aviation, a US business aviation MRO, has expanded its East Alton team with the addition of Jim Ellis as its avionics technical sales manager at St Louis Regional Airport, Illinois. He will work directly with the avionics sales and technical teams to provide support for new and existing customers.

Ellis has over 26 years of avionics experience, formally serving as avionics senior crew chief in the US Air Force and the Illinois National Guard. With an associate degree in Electronic Technology, he also has specialised training including AET aircraft electronics technician certification, FCC licence, SD AeroIT certification, Dassault Engineering Services fly by wire software load and certified inspector.

“Jim brings a vast knowledge of avionics installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance to this position,” says Marty Rhine, vice president of sales. “He has a clear understanding of airframe and related system maintenance requirements. It is not often that we are fortunate enough to bring on someone with this much technical experience and familiarity with our services.”
