Embraer and VisionSafe Corporation have announced that VisionSafe's EVAS (Emergency Vision Assurance System) is now available for the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 business jets. The new feature will be available through an STC issued by VisionSafe.
The EVAS system provides a clear space of air through which a pilot can see flight instruments and out through the front windshield for landing the aircraft in the event of cockpit smoke. In addition to the Praetor aircraft, the Legacy 450 and the Legacy 500 business jets are also eligible to be upgraded with the system. In 2020, a similar STC was issued by VisionSafe for the Legacy 600, Legacy 650 and Lineage 1000 business jets. In addition, EVAS is available as loose equipment for the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300.
“This feature will enhance safety on Embraer's Praetor business jets,” says Marsha Woelber, head of worldwide executive jets customer support and aftermarket sales, Embraer Service & Support. “This reflects the continuous improvement Embraer brings to its successful business jet portfolio.”
VisionSafe director of sales Chris Skurat adds: “Embraer's constant commitment to safety is reaffirmed in announcing this partnership with VisionSafe. Having EVAS available as an STC on Embraer's flagship Praetor aircraft is a milestone for business aviation. We are thrilled to announce EVAS is now available on all Embraer business aircraft, giving their clients the option of adding EVAS to their aircraft as an aftermarket upgrade.”
Embraer's current portfolio consists of the Phenom 100EV, the Phenom 300E, which has been the best-selling light jet for nine years in a row; and the Praetor 500 and 600.
