Salus Aviation, parent company of New Zealand MRO services, parts supply and aircraft sales provider Oceania Aviation, has appointed Greg Edmonds as the group's new CEO. The board of directors is confident that Edmond's extensive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors will allow him to successfully steer Salus Aviation through the next phase of growth, building on the strong structure that the group's departing CEO, Nick Mair has created.
In addition to Oceania, Salus owns Gisborne Helicopters, Heli-Parts Nevada and Heli-Trading Network.
James Sclater, chairman of the board of Salus Aviation says: “Greg is a collaborative, highly skilled leader proven within the strictly regulated transport industry. We look forward to seeing him continue to drive sustainable sales growth in the next phase of our journey, as we navigate the impacts of COVID-19 on the general aviation industry.”
Edmonds comes from a strong leadership background spanning construction, aviation and transport. He was most recently the executive general manager for New Zealand at SRG Global, overseeing large scale engineering and construction projects for one of Australasia's most innovative asset maintenance companies. Prior to SRG, he led the delivery of Auckland Transport's $100 million AT Hop ticketing system as COO. He spent a number of years with New Zealand's largest commercial airliner Air New Zealand, leading the development of a trade partnership programme for Air New Zealand China and prior to that as the international airports manager for the airline in New Zealand.
In other news, Salus has contracted global aviation software specialist Ramco Systems to implement its flagship Ramco Aviation M&E MRO Suite V5.8 aviation software across the group's fleet. Ramco Aviation software will offer different modules on the cloud such as Maintenance and Engineering, MRO Services and Part Sales, Supply Chain Management, and Compliance, bundled with Finance and Manufacturing offerings, while delivering simplified user experience via hubs.
In order to improve operational efficiencies, Salus embarked on a digital transformation initiative and chose Ramco's modern, integrated aviation suite to provide a single platform across the business, ensuring group-wide operational visibility and discipline, thus improving overall efficiency.
Rab McLean, head of IT, Salus Aviation, says: “We chose Ramco as our preferred ERP supplier as it provides an end-to-end solution backed by next-gen technology in real-time. We believe that this will help us achieve a successful digital transformation. We look forward to working with its team to see how its software can solve our company pain points while improving overall efficiency.”
Ramco CEO Virender Aggarwal adds: “We are pleased to have been chosen by Salus Aviation for our aviation suite among different vendors, underscoring our track record in the aviation industry. Since Salus manages operations across multiple locations and value streams, it requires a holistic overview of all the operational processes in real-time to make better decisions. We at Ramco are glad to be able to fill this gap for them.”
Ramco Aviation Software is trusted by more than 24,000 users to manage over 4,000 aircraft globally. Accessible on cloud and mobile, Ramco Aviation Software continues to innovate with 'anywhere apps', significantly reducing transaction times both during AOG conditions and critical aircraft turnarounds.
