Dumont Jets, headquartered in New Castle, Delaware, has secured its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator following a successful audit, conducted by Wyvern in June. The Wingman Standard provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services.
“Achieving the status of Wingman, and maintaining that status, is a major accomplishment for the entire organisation and reflective of the rigorous measures and processes we implement daily to ensure the safety of our clients,” says Ed Zimmerman, director of safety. “We're a safety-first organisation, so we're particularly proud to be recognised as one of the safest operators in the industry.”
Wyvern Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman Standard criteria. The scope of the evaluation includes an evaluation of operational activities, review on the company operational history and safety records, SMS, internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.
The Wingman Standard is based on ICAO standards for commercial air transport, Safety Management International Collaboration Group’s (SMICG) standards for SMS, and industry best practices that are common among the most sophisticated operators around the world. “We are proud to announce that Dumont JETS is a Wingman Operator. Conforming to the Wyvern Wingman Standard is a testament to an organisation’s culture and commitment to safety," concludes Sonnie Bates, Wyvern CEO.
