Air Crane to serve in South Korea
An S-64 Air Crane was loaded onto an Antonov An-124 at Medford Oregon for a flight to South Korea. It is to support firefighting operations for the government-run forest service.
The toughest job calls for the toughest utility aircraft; the Erickson S-64 Air Crane helicopter heads to South Korea.

The Korean Forest Service (KFS) has taken delivery of a K7 S-64 Air Crane helicopter from Oregon-headquartered OEM Erickson Inc.

In 2001, KFS was the first foreign government body to purchase S-64 helicopters , and the company is continuing to modify and upgrade its fleet with the addition of K7, incorporating the latest modifications such as composite-made rotor blades and a glass cockpit.

“Our delivery of K7 solidifies the Korean Forest Service's belief in our platform and its capability,” comments Erickson vice president of aerosystems Hayden Olsen. “KFS put the S-64 Air Crane in service to save property and lives, and everyone here is very proud of that. This is the final manifestation of a lot of hard work, and we are honoured to continue to service South Korea.”
