Erickson is looking forward to applying its spirit and operational experience to chart a future for the 214 in a similar fashion to its work with the S-64 Air Crane helicopter over the past three decades.

Erickson started the process of designing the new composite main rotor blades in 2008, working closely with the FAA and various industry partners.

Erickson has agreed to work with Sikorsky on the development of 21st century night time fire fighting solutions. It is also bringing in a new line of legacy Air Crane S-64F+ helicopters.
