Web Manuals speeds US digitisation and accessibility
A shift to digital has boosted the uptake of Web Manuals in the US, and the company is working with Arycom to improve connectivity in the region while upgrading its software to ease the transition.
Svante Hjorth and Krister Genmark mark their connectivity partnership.

Web Manuals is experiencing rapid expansion of its US client base, with a 17 per cent increase since the beginning of 2019.

Business aviation is leading the charge for digitisation in the region; nearly two thirds of its 69 US-based customers operate within the sector. Director of operations Americas Krister Genmark explains: “To increase our US client base by almost a fifth proves that, industry-wide, people are embracing digital transformation. The approaching ADS-B mandate is compelling rapid avionics upgrades; seat-sharing and instant-booking private charter apps are becoming commonplace; and customers are requesting ultra-fast wi-fi in their jet cabin as standard. Business aviation is taking advantage of the technological innovations found across commercial travel sectors.”

He continues: “Demand for document digitisation has rocketed in accordance with this trend. To further drive business aviation forwards, we're launching Web Manuals 8, bringing compliant, efficient and easy document creation and editing to more customers than ever before.”

Web Manuals 8 offers a unified, multi-language experience across a much wider range of devices than previously served, including smartphones and offline support via the Chrome browser. The software provides real-time updates on regulation changes, so users can make sure they are always prepared for the next flight. The system's rapid authoring, reviewing, publishing and distributing tools also provide significant time and cost savings.

Founder and CE Martin Lidgard says: “The new version of our flagship digitisation package makes the move to a fully digital platform a seamless process for business aviation companies. We have worked on developing a new level of simple and intuitive user experiences to enhance our customers' onboarding and daily work. One such feature is the ability to work with multiple pages simultaneously, making it even quicker and easier to edit large and complex manuals.

“By introducing support for more than ten new languages in the application, we show our commitment to ensuring our international customers continue to find digitising their existing documents a stress-free experience, while adhering to the highest industry safety standards. We are looking forward to rolling the update out across our customer base from now.”

The company is also partnering with satellite connectivity provider Arycom, to boost access to digital manuals in every location across the Americas. Arycom has been providing satellite voice and broadband data solutions to the South American aviation industry from its Brazil headquarters since 2001, and expanded into the US in 2017.

Genmark notes: “By partnering with Arycom, we are ensuring our customers can access the most up-to-date digital manuals they need for every mission or operation, regardless of whether they're in a remote flight location in South America, in the sky or in their office or home. We share a dedication to innovation and connectivity, and by combining our resources we can bring digitalisation to more customers than ever before.”

Arycom founder and CEO Svante Hjorth adds: “Our objective is to meet aircraft operators' growing demand for complete connectivity solutions in the cabin and cockpit. Web Manuals' digital documentation is an excellent addition to our portfolio, which includes cockpit datalink services, accelerated high-speed data, real-time monitoring, navigation, and more. With Web Manuals, we are bringing modern aircraft operations into the digital age.”
