Payerne airport in Switzerland has opened a new terminal dedicated to general aviation that offers 6,600 sqm of heated aircraft hangars able to welcome aircraft up to Global 7500 size, along with 3,000 sqm of offices to rent.
Swiss operator Speedwings has been appointed to manage the FBO, which includes three VIP lounges, four crew rooms, two kitchens, a crew lounge, a laundry service and storage rooms.
The airport is located between Lausanne and Bern, three minutes from the highway. With its customs āCā status, flights can be operated to and from the extra Schengen area, and MOT free JET A-1 is available with a dedicated truck for GA. The terminal has direct access to the dedicated GA ramp, south of the 2,800 m ILS and GNSS equipped runway, which is shared with the military air base.
Thanks to strong local partnerships, Speedwings is able to provide VIP catering, limousine and helicopter services as well as crew cars.
FBO equipment includes mobile GPUs, Mototok push back tugs up to 75,000 kgs, a lavatory cart, potable water cart and VIP ramp cars. On weekdays, airport operating hours are from 0730 to 2000, with an extension possible up to 2200. On Saturday the site is operational between 0900 and 1200 and from 1330 to 1700, with extension possible on request up to 2200.
