BelgiumBelgian operator ASL Private Jet Services is launching a new FBO service for all private and business jets flying in and out of Antwerp, Belgium and Groningen airport in the Netherlands. Previously ASL only provided ground handling and support services to its own fleet of aircraft, or to aircraft chartered for its own clients.
Ground handling services include short term and long term parking, with outdoor parking and securing, as well as limited hangar space; refuelling services; line services such as aircraft interior and exterior cleaning, dishwashing, laundry cleaning, lavatory servicing and potable water filling; line maintenance in coordination with ASL sister company RAS, a Part 145 maintenance workshop; customs and immigration services; aircraft catering orders for crew and passengers; passenger services covering baggage handling, provision of passenger lounges and ground transportation arrangements; flight planning facilities with access to computers and telecommunications equipment for weather reports, briefing packages and flight plan filing; a flight crew lounge; and a car rental arrangement.
ASL already uses its own facilities, including hangars and lounges, but will soon gain additional FBO facilities at the brand new general aviation terminal at Antwerp airport. These will provide crews and passengers with a dedicated and secure access to the apron where aircraft are parked. Facilities will include a VIP passenger lounge, a crew lounge and rest area and will also feature a large reception/meeting/event area that will require advanced booking through the FBO.
This new activity will expand the catalogue of business aviation services already offered by the ASL Group. After Antwerp and Groningen, it aims to grow its FBO network into other airports in Belgium and the Netherlands where the company is already based, as well as to new airports and bases over the coming years.
ASL was founded in 1997 by Philippe Bodson and, together with sister company JetNetherlands, it manages and operates more than 35 aircraft and operates from nine regional and national airports. Both companies are members of EBAA and employ a total of 150 people.
