OklahomaWayne Jamroz has joined King Aerospace Commercial Corporation (KACC) as general manager of its operations in Ardmore, OK. He brings almost four decades of extensive aviation maintenance experience to his leadership position.
Most recently Jamroz served as vice president and general manager of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for AAR Corp in Rockford, Illinois. In that role he oversaw the construction of the then-new facility and development of AAR's MRO business. He hired staff and technicians, and developed programmes to increase the comlany's competitiveness in the global aircraft services market.
Previously he served as vice president of maintenance and engineering for Midwest Airlines for almost 26 years. He has experience on both business and commercial jet aircraft and working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on airworthiness and regulatory compliance. He holds an A&P diploma, associates in aviation maintenance and a bachelor's degree in business management.
“The King Aerospace culture of no excuses and red-carpet treatment of customers drew me to make this move,” says Jamroz. “King treats its team like family, and I'm glad to now call myself a member of that family.”
King Aerospace and GE Aviation recently finalised a multi-year agreement making King Aerospace a GE OnPoint service centre. King will provide aircraft engine maintenance and repair for CFM56-7B-powered Boeing Business Jets (BBJ). As a GE OnPoint service centre, King Aerospace will perform a range of on-wing maintenance including line maintenance inspections, routine installed engine maintenance, removal and replacement of engines and engine components. King Aerospace A&P mechanics are participating in intensive technical training at GE's Cincinnati, Ohio, campus in preparation for rolling out this service.
KACC also offers MRO, interior design/refurbishment/completions and exterior paint for VIP and VVIP aircraft, specialising in the BBJ. It is a family-owned company with a home office in Dallas. This year it celebrates its 25th anniversary and record growth, with earnings 30 per cent above fiscal year 2017.
“At a facility such as ours, some aircraft move through in a matter of days, others may take weeks or months,” says Jamroz. “Moving the plane through efficiently and effectively requires precision teamwork. I feel like I'm now with the best in the business.”
