Kopter appoints distributor for Nordic countries
Lee McCammon is just the man to help sell the Kopter SH09 to US-based HEMS clients, while Swiss Helikopter Norway has been named as a SH09 distributor.
Representatives from Kopter and Swiss Helikopter Norway celebrate the SH09 distribution agreement.

Kopter North America has added air medical specialist Lee McCammon to its sales team and has appointed Swiss Helikopter Norway (SHN) to distribute its SH09 rotorcraft in Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland and Greenland. “We are tremendously pleased to add to the team a person with so much history, knowledge and experience of air medical missions," says Kopter NA president of sales, marketing and customer support Larry Roberts. "Lee expertly understands the industry, our customers and the support they require for success.”

In order to maintain available SH09 delivery slots for the region, and considering the ramp-up of firm orders, SHN has confirmed its commitment and positive outlook for the region by securing a firm order for four SH09s for delivery from 2021.

SHN will be supported technically by Norwegian operator Helitrans, which became the launch customer for the SH09 after ordering 12 units and six options of the Swiss-made single turbine helicopter.

Having worked as a paramedic for NorthStar in New Jersey, Lee McCammon was promoted to programme director and worked for several years with Rocky Mountain Helicopters. He later worked at Petroleum Helicopters Incorporated as assistant director of air medical operations. He then held positions at EMS operators Omniflight, Life Med Alaska and Air Methods Corporation, where he has worked as regional vice president for the last eight years.

Kopter NA was recently formed as an LLC and is assessing potential sites in the US that meet the stringent company requirements for establishing a helicopter manufacturing and assembly facility. Says CEO Christian Gras: “Lee’s extensive experience will help us match the SH09 to the demanding needs that EMS customers require from rotary wing aircraft."
