Why visit ACE ’25?
Spanish flight school Aeroflota del Noroeste (AFN) has purchased an entrol en-1000 FNPT II simulator. Capable of switching between single and multiple engines, the en-1000 is equipped with GTN 650 avionics and a cockpit that is interchangeable between analogue and glass.
This is the third simulator acquired by AFN to offer to its students high quality simulation technology to ensure compliance with EASA requirements for performance-based navigation (PBN) training.
Head of training David Fernandez says: "After more than 20 years in the business, we know that one of the keys to success for our students is the IFR training that we offer at our school. However, we must also adapt to changes and new technologies, like PBN, without compromising the essence of instrumental flight."
IATA defines PBN as a method of navigation based on Area Navigation or RNAV which permits aircraft operation on any desired flight path within coverage of station-referenced navigation aids or within the limits of the capability of self-contained aids, or a combination of both.
