CHC Helikopter Service in Stavanger, Norway, has had its contract with international energy company Statoil extended after the latter exercised its options. The operator will provide helicopter SAR services to Statoil’s Tampen and Oseberg oil fields until 2019 in a deal worth over 90 million USD.
As part of the extension CHC will continue to provide offshore SAR to the fields using three H225 rotorcraft. CHC Helikopter Service and other units within the CHC group already deliver crew change services to Statoil in Norway, the UK and Canada.
Says regional director Arne Roland: “Statoil’s decision recognises the safety, quality and flexibility of CHC’s services and the professionalism of our people. With our fleet of new technology aircraft positioned along the Norwegian coast, we are ready to deliver services to meet the customer’s changing needs.”
Statoil has exercised options under an existing contract which started in 2009. The extension period runs from April 2016 for three years, and Statoil has expanded its contract with CHC to include further SAR coverage from Sola airport.
