Major chains and independents compete for handling top spots
Qualified, aircraft-operating readers of European Business Air News have delivered their verdicts on the specialist business aviation handlers of Europe and, once again, the average scores of the top 25 are higher than ever.

Qualified, aircraft-operating readers of European Business Air News have delivered their verdicts on the specialist business aviation handlers of Europe and, once again, the average scores of the top 25 are higher than ever.

Our readers are remarkably consistent, voting Mallorcair as the top facility for the fourth year in succession, and placing two TAG Aviation locations, Geneva and Farnborough, in the top five as in 2007.

MES-Handling at Munich continue their steady progress, having entered the top 25 last year at number six and now rising to number four. But the biggest improvement overall was made by Grafair Jet Center at Stockholm, whose ranking increased from 6.625 to 7.820 - enough to climb all the way from 24th to third! One new name on the leader board is that of VIP Aviation at Berlin Tempelhof, and this year both KLM locations - Rotterdam and Amsterdam - have stepped up to be rated in the top eleven.

There were some changes to the voting system this year, and by allowing each reader to vote for an unlimited number of locations we have substantially increased the overall number of votes cast. The system was simpler too, in that we asked only for ratings for facilities, services and staff. These, surely, are the most important aspects of any handling business, and so our overall scores are an average of these three individual ratings.

EBAN would like to thank all of those readers who took the time to register their votes, and everyone for putting up with our persistent reminders with such good grace.
