GreeceGainjet has taken another big step towards fulfilling its ambition to be the largest G200 operator outside the United States. Ramsey Shaban, ceo, says: "The recent delivery of two more G200s which are now on Gainjets' AOC brings the total available for charter to four. A fifth is scheduled for delivery within one year and this will make the company the largest G200 operator outside the U.S."
Athens-based Gainjet says that, in 2007, it managed to achieve an average of 100 hours utilisation per aircraft and is profiting from basing a G200 in the U.K. and increasing its coverage of the Middle East and central and eastern Europe.
Shaban says: "Planes are operationally based in Athens however, in practice, they are always out of base flying constantly between Luton, Paris, Kuwait and Dubai." A G450 is scheduled for delivery in 2008 and a G550 by April 2008. A 16-seat G450 is lined up for June delivery and an 18-seat G550 for October.
