ABS Jets is putting into service its third Embraer Legacy, the 100th delivered worldwide and the fourth to be acquired in the Czech Republic.
Commercial director Jan Vana says that more jets will join the ABS managed fleet in 2007. ABS is already adding a Bombardier Learjet 60XR in July. In addition Vana says: "We are in discussions with several potential owners. The strength of the economy is one factor, there is obviously increasing demand as the economy moves up."
Vana expects demand for international charter flights to increase. ABS, member of EBAA, has developed its European presence with its partners in Russia, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. But it is responding to charter demand for services around the world with favoured destinations including Dubai, the Caribbean, the Alps, London, Moscow and Cannes.
Vana says: "Two Legacies will be available for charter. The other is kept so busy by its owners that it is not available for charter yet."
ABS, which also has two Citation Bravos under management, provides brokerage, consultancy and MRO services approved by Embraer and Cessna. "The recent addition of ABS Jets on the Embraer's list of Embraer Executive Aircraft Authorised Service Centres actually represents the first MRO of this kind in the former eastern block countries," says Vana.
"The Embraer Legacy is part of an attractive package for corporate and charter owners in the Czech Republic," he adds, "but in the end it is the owner's preference and choice. They do like the Legacy cabin and the
6,200 kilometre range and, of course, there are operational and main-tenance advantages."
ABS reports expanding business in Bulgaria and Romania and, to a lesser extent, in Croatia and Montenegro which are popular holiday destinations for Czechs.
Grossman Jet Services also operates a Legacy in the Czech Republic.
