Boutsen Aviation is reporting steady orders for the P180 Avanti II. It has just sold and delivered a second example to one of its French customers - just a month after the first Avanti II was delivered in France. Two more orders are to follow. Both initial P180 acquisitions replace the companies' older aircraft and are dedicated to their top management transport. Dominique Trinquet, Boutsen Aviation's sales manager says: "These two companies have chosen the Avanti II because this aircraft offers a stand-up cabin, jet like comfort and speed, altogether for the price of a turboprop. "The fact that Piaggio Aero is based at Genoa Airport has enabled our customers to pay regular visits to the factory and follow all construction phases of their aircraft, which they found extremely interesting". Thierry Boutsen, who founded Boutsen Aviation in 1996, told EBAN: "Another Avanti II delivery should be made in December this year and we have another order for January 2008." Boutsen, a Formula One test and development driver, adds: "It is starting to be very well known and established in the U.S. market and there are big orders. However Piaggio is determined to keep the European market serviced and 20 to 25 per cent of production is reserved for the European market. But we are working to a two-year delivery lead." Boutsen adds: "We have worked very hard over the past years to help Piaggio enjoy the image it deserves. The P180 is recognised as 'the Ferrari of the Sky', and is now extremely well accepted. The pilots love the new Proline 21 cockpit of the Avanti II." Boutsen Aviation is Piaggio's sales representative for France, Monaco and Belgium.
