KansasJetNetherlands is putting a new Citation XLS into service. Dorine Buis sales manager says: "Following intense demand for our Citation Excel we decided to expand our fleet with the addition of an XLS, a faster and longer-legged derivative of the popular Excel." The XLS will be based at Amsterdam Airport, Schiphol East, and will be used for on-demand charter. Buis says: ""We are experiencing a significant growth in the demand for large and midsize cabin aircraft. This increasing demand is the reason that we decided to purchase a brand new Cessna Citation XLS." This has an August delivery date. "Having similar aircraft is very important because of the synergies you can create with the crews and the maintenance. Growth looks set to continue and further expansion is planned in the near future." She adds: "The most impressive features of the Citation XLS are its performance figures and its extraordinary cabin comfort. It has the perfect combination of range, speed, payload, cabin comfort, baggage capacity and its height-altitude airport capabilities are remarkable. The straightforward, reliable redundant systems of the Citation XLS reduce downtime and maintenance costs." She says the Citation XLS's high thrust to weight ratio allows it to reach efficient cruise altitudes very quickly. At maximum take off weight from a sea level airport, the XLS can climb directly to 45.000 feet - above all the weather and turbulence - in just 29 minutes. This puts the XLS amongst the best climbing aircraft in any class." Buis adds that, with a full fuel IFR range of more than 1,900nm the Citation XLS is able to travel to more destinations without fuel stops than many competitors. She adds: "We feel the XLS will give us a significant advantage in the local charter market." The central Amsterdam location is convenient to service clients in London, Geneva, Antwerp and Paris.
