Private jet charter operator London Executive Aviation is in negotiations with Cessna to bring forward the delivery of its first Citation Mustang very light jet.
LEA, which has placed an order for seven aircraft, is trying to arrange an earlier delivery date for at least one of the aeroplanes. They are scheduled to join the company's charter fleet between 2007 and 2009.
The first two aeroplanes are currently expected in December 2007. If successful, LEA says it will pioneer the introduction of the four-passenger Mustang into the UK charter market.
LEA hopes the Mustang will cut the cost of chartering a jet by up to 25 per cent and stimulate increased demand for private air travel. The company said it chose the aircraft because of Cessna's reputation and the aircraft's outstanding interior space and passenger comfort.
Chief executive Patrick Margetson-Rushmore commented: "A private jet is the ultimate timesaver and the Mustang will make this an option for many more people, for both business and leisure. We believe it will bring substantial benefits to our customers and are pressing to introduce the aircraft as soon as possible."
