Boutsen Aviation, the aircraft broker created by three times Formula One Grand Prix winner Thierry Boutsen, sold its 100th aircraft in February. The aircraft, an Embraer Phenom 100 very light jet, was sold to a first-time buyer based in France.
"This is an unforgettable moment in the short history of Boutsen Aviation! Thanks to the hard work of our team, we have reached this target much earlier than anticipated," said Thierry Boutsen.
Sales manager Dominique Trinquet commented: "We have sold most of the popular business aircraft models, with 21 Citation, 23 King Air, seven Piaggio P180 Avanti, 13 Piper Cheyenne, 10 helicopters and some Learjet, Falcon and Challenger aircraft, dealing only through exclusive mandates for sales and acquisitions."
Thierry Boutsen founded the Monaco-based company in 1996 and he continued his motor racing career until a lucky escape from an accident during the 1999 Le Mans 24 Hour Race gave him the impetus to quit racing and focus on business aircraft sales full-time.
The firm's first sales was that of a Citation ISP to one of his former Formula One colleagues. The company was recently appointed aircraft sales representative for the business aircraft models of Embraer and Piaggio in France, Monaco and Benelux.
"We are recognised and respected by our colleagues and clients for our seriousness, the quality of the aircraft we choose to represent and the services we provide," said Boutsen.
