Comlux brings maintenance and service to Dubai
The maintenance and service centre brings Comlux close to its Middle Eastern clients, and is an added value to the services provided at Dubai’s aerospace platform, Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub.
Fully operational for a few weeks now, the first visitors to the hangar were an ACJ TwoTwenty outfitted and operated by Comlux and a Bombardier aircraft coming in for small maintenance work.

Comlux has marked the official opening of its service and maintenance centre at Dubai Al Maktoum International airport (DWC). The facility will provide light maintenance, hangarage, AOG services, cabin detailing and aircraft cleaning services, while also being utilised as regional headquarters.

The 20,000sqm facility consists of 5,000sqm of air-conditioned hangar, an adjacent 2,500sqm building spanning several floors and 15,000sqm of apron space. Landside and airside basement areas are dedicated to technical installation and storage; the ground floor houses spare parts storage and workshops; and the first and second floor are dedicated to commercial and management offices, as well as a VIP area and a design showroom featuring a scale mock-up of ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft.

The hangar itself is designed to simultaneously accommodate two ACJ and BBJ aircraft or several smaller jets.

Comlux Middle East and Africa offers services to any OEM or operator and will eventually serve jets of any type. Moreover, as a Part 145 maintenance organisation approved by EASA, Comlux Aviation has already performed a maintenance check on the world’s first Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft in this brand-new facility.

Opening a maintenance and service centre in Dubai is a strategic move that allows Comlux to support its clients in the region, particularly the Middle East, Africa and south Asia. Moreover, the Dubai facility will support some of the activities of Comlux Completion, the US-located division focused on cabin outfitting and MRO services. Comlux Completion is an exclusive partner of Airbus for the completion of the first 17 ACJ TwoTwenty cabins as well as an Airbus ACJ service centre and Boeing BBJ authorised warranty and repair facility and service centre. Both entities, Comlux Completion and Comlux Middle East and Africa, will work closely together to provide the best services in the Middle East and beyond.

Richard Gaona, executive chairman and CEO Comlux, says: “I am extremely happy and proud of the Comlux team for this new step in our development. We will be close to our Middle Eastern clients, and our mission is to serve them to our best abilities.”

It has been several years since Comlux established a partnership with Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), the aerospace platform of Dubai, and the cooperation continues to flourish as Comlux strengthens its position in the region.

Tahnoon Saif, MBRAH CEO, adds: “The opening of Comlux’s facility is an added value to the services we provide at MBRAH and reflects our commitment to attracting leading global companies and driving innovation in the aviation industry. At MBRAH, our mandate is to position Dubai as a global aviation hub, in line with the vision of our wise leadership. We are dedicated to supporting companies in establishing their presence and benefitting from our integrated ecosystem.”
