Santai Seaplane, a subsidiary of Seaplane Asia Group, has named former Olympic swimmer and advertising industry professional Wirmandi Sugriat as its new CEO.

Sugriat possesses over two decades of executive experience and a passion for aviation, influenced by his family’s history within the sector.

The appointment is intended to build upon the company’s goal of improving accessibility to Indonesia's waterfront resorts, beaches and marinas, fostering increased tourism and building local economies. “Together with our incredible team, we are charting a course to not only enhance tourism but also drive sustainable growth in aviation across the archipelago,” Sugriat says. “Indonesia's breathtaking landscapes deserve equally remarkable travel solutions. I am thrilled to lead Santai Seaplane in creating seamless, luxurious and innovative journeys that connect travellers to our nation's hidden gems."

Santai Seaplane has partnered with a select group of leading resort and tour operators as it continues to establish its presence across Indonesia, and is backed by Seaplane Asia's executive team, including CEO Dennis Keller, CTO Fabrice Mouton, CFO Schalk van der Westhuizen and CMO Paul Seymour.
