Signature makes fee reductions for piston operators
Single piston operators will now pay no more than a $30 handling fee, which is waived with the purchase of 10 gallons of 100LL fuel. Twin piston operators will pay a $60 handling fee, waived with a 30 gallon purchase.
Piston operators will see reduced handling rates and minimum gallon thresholds across Signature’s US network.

In response to AOPA’s ongoing campaign, led by president and CEO Mark Baker, for transparency and fairness in FBO fees, Signature Aviation has provided a more simple, consistent and broadly lower set of fees for piston aircraft.

Signature’s nationwide updates mean single piston aircraft operators will now pay no more than a $30 handling fee, which is waived with the purchase of 10 gallons of 100LL fuel. Twin piston operators will pay a $60 handling fee, waived with a 30 gallon purchase. For many aircraft, this represents as much as a 50 per cent discount off previous rates.

Piston operators will see these reduced handling rates and minimum gallon thresholds across Signature’s US network (excluding 16 FBOs, predominantly at large international airports, that are not included in this programme), offering operators the consistency and predictability for which AOPA has long advocated.

Signature Aviation will also invest in additional 100LL self-service fuelling locations, which offer fuel at an average of $1.00 per gallon less than full-service pricing.

The company will continue to charge a non-waivable average $8 infrastructure fee for piston aircraft, and operators will need to pay any fees imposed by an airport, such as landing fees.

The reduced FBO fees for piston operators builds upon the August 2024 launch of BRAVO by Signature, a free membership programme for small and medium-sized Jet A operators that offers significant commitment free fuel discounts, member support and partner benefits.

“I am pleased Signature has heard us and is taking steps to embrace the general aviation community and the tens of thousands of piston aircraft we fly,” says Baker. “AOPA will continue to advocate for fair and reasonable FBO pricing so that all sectors of our aviation eco-system continue to be viable and strong.”

“Signature is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience within our industry-leading network,” adds CEO Tony Lefebvre. “Complementing our BRAVO by Signature programme for jet operators, we are thrilled to announce this new initiative for piston operators. We appreciate AOPA’s advocacy on behalf of pilots and aircraft owners and look forward to making every second exceptional across the guest journey.”
