Why visit ACE ’25?
StandardAero is marking the 25th anniversary of its Van Nuys, California service centre with multiple celebrations, both on-site at Van Nuys airport earlier this month, and during NBAA-BACE at booth #2373.
Originally known as Western Jet Aviation until its acquisition by StandardAero in 2023, the facility was established at Van Nuys airport in 1999. The US west coast service centre’s 25th anniversary is a significant milestone for the site, which specialises in MRO of Gulfstream aircraft.
“Our success is built on the dedication and hard work of our talented employees, and we couldn’t ask for a better team delivering exceptional service to our customers,” says Katie Higgins, vice president and general manager of StandardAero VNY. “Since the site was acquired by StandardAero, we’ve completed multiple site improvement projects and have added a dedicated structures team, providing operators with a whole new level of capability expertise for major structural work.”
StandardAero celebrated the anniversary on-site in Van Nuys on 8 October with employees, customers and special guests, including former site owner and founder Jim Hansen and airport staff. The event featured speeches from Higgins and StandardAero business aviation president Tony Brancato, both expressing their appreciation for the loyal customers, devoted team and valued partners in Van Nuys who have contributed to its success.
Brancato said at the event: “Look at these 25 years and all the amazing work that’s been done here. We’re going to take that momentum and drive it forward for the next 25 years and beyond. My compliments to each of you for your commitment; together, we’ll continue to grow and meet our customers’ evolving needs.”
StandardAero’s Van Nuys service centre remains a vital hub for primarily Gulfstream airframe MRO services. It provides top-tier maintenance to operators on the west coast, as well as from a satellite AOG site at Miami-Opa Locka Executive airport in Florida, enabling coast to coast customer support.
