Market demand breeds Asia show in Singapore
The growth of business aviation in Asia Pacific, particularly in southeast Asia, means there is a need for the business aviation industry to have its own dedicated show in this region. Experia is stepping up to the plate.
BAAFEx will be a sizeable showcase for Asian business aviation.

The organiser of the Singapore Airshow, Experia Events, is launching the Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo (BAAFEx), the only international exhibition in Asia Pacific dedicated to the growing business aviation industry. Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo (BAAFEx) will be a biennial event with the first edition to be held from 4-6 March 2025 at the Changi Exhibition Centre, a purpose-built exhibition centre in Singapore for airshows with ample space for aircraft on static display.

The growth of business aviation in Asia Pacific, particularly in southeast Asia, means there is a need for the business aviation industry to have its own dedicated show in this region. According to research from Asian Sky Group, the number of business jets in Asia Pacific, as of the end of 2023, was around 1,200, making it the third largest market for business jets after North America and Europe. The city-state of Singapore is an ideal location to hold the show because it is a popular business centre well-connected to the region and the world. According to WingX Advance data, the number of business aircraft departures from Singapore last year was 28 percent above 2019 levels.

Leck Chet Lam, managing director of Experia Events, says: “We are thrilled to launch BAAFEx, an event that will not only showcase the latest advancements in business aviation and general aviation, but also provide a platform for industry leaders to collaborate and drive the future of general aviation and business aviation.”

BAAFEx will have an exhibition and industry forum that will include participants from the entire business aviation and general aviation ecosystem. Besides aircraft manufacturers, some of the exhibitors that have signed on for the show include, for example, aircraft management and charter operator TAG Aviation; integrated travel risk management company MedAire; satellite operator Viasat as well as the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority, a regulator that is popular with business jet operators.

The Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), the organisation representing business and general aviation entities based in Asia and around the world, will be organising the Business Aviation Forum, an industry forum to be co-located at the show. AsBAA chairwoman, Jenny Lau, says: “AsBAA is excited to announce our support for the Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo to be held in Singapore in March 2025. It has been some time since we've had an event focused specifically on business and general aviation, making this occasion particularly significant. We anticipate that this expo will serve as an exceptional opportunity to unite our business aviation and general aviation (BA/GA) community. We look forward to seeing everyone at this exciting event.”

The forum will be held over several days where industry leaders will share their insights on the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in general aviation and business aviation. This forum also creates the perfect platform for aircraft buyers, operators and suppliers to meet and collaborate.

The exhibition also offers networking opportunities, including exclusive receptions and business matchmaking sessions to further foster collaboration and partnerships.
